An app that combats isolation and mental illness
Created during my first year at Pratt Institute, this research project was a design response to the lingering effects of COVID-19 and the pandemic on the mental health of Black women. I interviewed 25 women with various careers and personal backgrounds to create an app that combated isolation and peril life changes.

OUTCOME
Black women experienced a heightened sense of isolation and suicidal thoughts during and after the pandemic related to COVID-19.

I interviewed several women including Lea, a doctor who was completing her residency during the pandemic, about their personal experiences.

Solution
A centralized way for women to have a sense of community where they can connect and share with women just like themselves, outside of the constraints of social media.
